"While in high school, our son Riley had the opportunity to play for Sandlot Baseball during the summer months. During his time with Sandlot, the experiences far exceeded our expectations. Riley worked with coaches who truly cared about him, both as a baseball player and a young man. Not only was he able to hone in on his baseball skills and grow as a young man, he also received the opportunity to travel to many prestigious tournaments each season. Without this organization and the amazing coaches, Riley would not be the baseball player he is today. " -Charlie & Jill Metzger
"Our son Blake had the privilege of playing for Sandlot under the leadership of Gunner Glad beginning in 2015. After two short months of team practices I remember walking into the facility one evening to pay for some training he would be giving Blake. I asked Gunner the vague question, “so tell me about my son.” He began to give me a detailed list of Blake’s strengths on the field and at the plate, fundamentals he needed to work on, his little quirks, then described to me what he saw in Blake’s personality as a player, team member, and his mental game. He nailed it. Everything he said was spot on. I was so impressed and remember asking Gunner his age. He answered “28”. I could not believe a 28 year old had this kind of intuition and foresight about his players after only 2 months! I complimented him by telling him what a special gift he possessed. Blake played for Sandlot every Summer throughout high school. Sandlot creates a team culture of being a brotherhood as well as a solid team. There is much more the players learn than just the game of baseball, they learn about hard work and being responsible and accountable for your actions. Through all of Sandlot's many connections with Baseball programs around the country, they go above and beyond assisting his players who wish to play at the next level. Blake played two years at Johnson County Community College, then in August of 2019 through Sandlot's assistance, he was able to fulfill a lifelong dream by getting the opportunity to play baseball for the University of Oklahoma. This dream became reality because of the knowledge and work ethic he gained from Gunner and the overall experience he had with the Sandlot organization." -Doug & Lisa Shannon
